# Ink Note vs PlanBits

The clearest difference is update cadence: PlanBits at weekly against Ink Note's every 3 months. PlanBits also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ink Note sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PlanBits sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ink Note ships an update every 3 months, PlanBits weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
