# LocationBook vs Solar Setup

The clearest difference is update cadence: Solar Setup at every 2 days against LocationBook's every 5 weeks. Solar Setup also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LocationBook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Solar Setup sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LocationBook ships an update every 5 weeks, Solar Setup every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
