# Hive® Game vs The Artisan

The clearest difference is ads: Hive® Game at none against The Artisan's shown. Hive® Game also leads on review sentiment (63% vs 31%) and ratings volume (310 vs 17). The Artisan's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 days). On price, rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hive® Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and The Artisan sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Hive® Game against 4.5 for The Artisan. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hive® Game has 310 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of Hive® Game's written reviews are positive against 31% of The Artisan's.

Hive® Game ships an update every 11 days, The Artisan every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
