# Ivy vs Habit Jars

The clearest difference is monetization model: Habit Jars at free with in-app purchases against Ivy's subscription. Habit Jars also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). Ivy's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ivy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Habit Jars sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Ivy against 5.0 for Habit Jars. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ivy has 16 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ivy ships an update every 10 days, Habit Jars every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
