# Patch vs AI Photo Editor

The clearest difference is monetization model: AI Photo Editor at free with in-app purchases against Patch's subscription. AI Photo Editor also leads on device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). Patch's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 7 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Patch sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and AI Photo Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Patch against 5.0 for AI Photo Editor. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 4 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Patch ships an update every 4 days, AI Photo Editor every 7 months. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
