# Folio vs Flashlight

The clearest difference is update cadence: Folio at every 5 days against Flashlight's every 4 months. Folio also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Folio sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month and Flashlight sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Folio ships an update every 5 days, Flashlight every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
