# HoloScan vs SWUDex

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SWUDex at none against HoloScan's 1. HoloScan's advantage is ratings volume (47 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HoloScan sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. SWUDex asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for HoloScan against 5.0 for SWUDex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HoloScan has 47 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
