# Nexus vs Flare

The clearest difference is rating: Flare at 3.7 against Nexus's 2.5. Flare also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Nexus's advantage is ratings volume (88 vs 3) and review sentiment (17% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nexus sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Flare sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flare holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nexus has 88 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Nexus's written reviews are positive against 0% of Flare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nexus ships an update fortnightly, Flare weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
