# 2nd Text vs Announce

The clearest difference is ads: Announce at none against 2nd Text's shown. Announce also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 2nd Text sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Announce sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

2nd Text ships an update every 2 months, Announce weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
