# Melow vs OffGrid Dose

The clearest difference is ads: OffGrid Dose at none against Melow's shown. OffGrid Dose also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Melow's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Melow sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and OffGrid Dose sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Melow against 5.0 for OffGrid Dose. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Melow has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Melow ships an update every 3 months, OffGrid Dose every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
