# Oki vs WeSpeak

The clearest difference is rating: WeSpeak at 5.0 against Oki's 4.4. Oki's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (64% vs 33%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Oki sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per month and WeSpeak sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WeSpeak holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oki has 390 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Oki's written reviews are positive against 33% of WeSpeak's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Oki ships an update every 4 days, WeSpeak every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
