# ASCEND AI vs Doro

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Doro at none against ASCEND AI's 8. Doro also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). ASCEND AI's advantage is ratings volume (70 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ASCEND AI sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Doro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Doro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ASCEND AI has 70 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ASCEND AI ships an update fortnightly, Doro every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
