# Squaredle vs Griddle Words

The clearest difference is ads: Griddle Words at none against Squaredle's shown. Griddle Words also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). Squaredle's advantage is ratings volume (304 vs 1) and review sentiment (33% vs 25%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Squaredle sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Griddle Words sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Griddle Words holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Squaredle has 304 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Squaredle's written reviews are positive against 25% of Griddle Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Squaredle ships an update every 2 weeks, Griddle Words weekly. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
