# ChessGold vs Dumb

The clearest difference is rating: Dumb at 5.0 against ChessGold's 4.4. Dumb also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks). ChessGold's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 3). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChessGold sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Dumb asks for nothing beyond the download.

Dumb holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChessGold has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
