# SalahScreen vs 5Locks

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 5Locks at 100% against SalahScreen's 54%. 5Locks also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). SalahScreen's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SalahScreen sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and 5Locks sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SalahScreen holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SalahScreen has 419 ratings behind it against 56, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of SalahScreen's written reviews are positive against 100% of 5Locks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SalahScreen ships an update every 2 weeks, 5Locks every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
