# TickScan vs Comet

The clearest difference is update cadence: Comet at every 8 days against TickScan's every 2 months. Comet also leads on ratings volume (7.8K vs 2). TickScan's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TickScan sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Comet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TickScan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Comet has 7.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TickScan ships an update every 2 months, Comet every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
