# Shape vs SEAR

The clearest difference is ads: Shape at none against SEAR's shown. Shape also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). SEAR's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shape sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and SEAR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shape ships an update fortnightly, SEAR every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and September 10, 2026 respectively.
