# PocketZi vs Proper Strokes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Proper Strokes at every 3 weeks against PocketZi's every 2 months. PocketZi's advantage is iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PocketZi sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Proper Strokes sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PocketZi ships an update every 2 months, Proper Strokes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
