# Course Sync vs Ahead

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Course Sync at none against Ahead's 3. Course Sync also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Ahead's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ahead sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Course Sync asks for nothing beyond the download.

Course Sync holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ahead has 23 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Course Sync's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ahead's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Course Sync ships an update every 4 days, Ahead every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
