# Shared Notes vs Notely

The clearest difference is ads: Notely at none against Shared Notes's shown. Notely also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Shared Notes's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shared Notes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Notely sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shared Notes ships an update every 2 weeks, Notely every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
