# Mechanical Keyboard vs CareToady

The clearest difference is rating: CareToady at 5.0 against Mechanical Keyboard's 4.5. Mechanical Keyboard's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (96 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mechanical Keyboard sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and CareToady sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CareToady holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mechanical Keyboard has 96 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mechanical Keyboard ships an update every 2 weeks, CareToady every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
