# Mechanical Keyboard vs KotoKey

Mechanical Keyboard and KotoKey both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of KotoKey's written reviews are positive against 85% of Mechanical Keyboard's. Mechanical Keyboard's advantage is ratings volume (109 vs 8). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mechanical Keyboard sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and KotoKey sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Mechanical Keyboard against 4.3 for KotoKey. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mechanical Keyboard has 109 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.
