# PicWords vs 牧牛录

The clearest difference is update cadence: 牧牛录 at every 4 days against PicWords's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicWords sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and 牧牛录 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PicWords ships an update fortnightly, 牧牛录 every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
