# SelectTranslate vs FileTranslate

The clearest difference is update cadence: SelectTranslate at every 3 weeks against FileTranslate's every 2 months. SelectTranslate also leads on device support (4 vs 2). FileTranslate's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SelectTranslate sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month and FileTranslate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SelectTranslate ships an update every 3 weeks, FileTranslate every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
