# Astari vs Scriben

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scriben at 100% against Astari's 41%. Scriben also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (daily vs every 11 days). Astari's advantage is ratings volume (447 vs 4) and chart position (#93 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Astari sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Scriben sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scriben holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Astari has 447 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 41% of Astari's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scriben's.

Astari ships an update every 11 days, Scriben daily. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
