# iState vs Vayu

The clearest difference is monetization model: Vayu at free against iState's paid. Vayu also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). iState's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iState sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and Vayu sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for iState against 5.0 for Vayu. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iState has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

iState ships an update weekly, Vayu every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
