# DC Metro Tracker vs DC Metro Widget

The clearest difference is monetization model: DC Metro Tracker at free against DC Metro Widget's freemium. DC Metro Tracker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DC Metro Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and DC Metro Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for DC Metro Tracker against 5.0 for DC Metro Widget. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DC Metro Tracker has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

DC Metro Tracker ships an update weekly, DC Metro Widget every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
