# Planote vs FirstSeed Notes

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Planote at 22 against FirstSeed Notes's 1. Planote also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 86%) and iOS requirement (15.2 vs 26.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Planote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and FirstSeed Notes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Planote against 5.0 for FirstSeed Notes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planote has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Planote's written reviews are positive against 86% of FirstSeed Notes's.

Planote ships an update every 2 weeks, FirstSeed Notes fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
