# Planote vs What

The clearest difference is rating: Planote at 5.0 against What's 4.3. Planote also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and ratings volume (22 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Planote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and What sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Planote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planote has 22 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Planote's written reviews are positive against 67% of What's.

Planote ships an update every 2 weeks, What weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
