# Pickax vs RePub

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pickax at none against RePub's 1. Pickax also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). RePub's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RePub sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Pickax asks for nothing beyond the download.

RePub holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pickax has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Pickax's written reviews are positive against 100% of RePub's.

Pickax ships an update every 4 days, RePub weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
