# Soma vs Span

The clearest difference is monetization model: Span at free against Soma's freemium. Span also leads on ratings volume (8 vs 2). Soma's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Soma sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.00 per month and Span sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Soma against 5.0 for Span. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 8 respectively.
