# WorkHourly vs Shift Work

The clearest difference is monetization model: Shift Work at free against WorkHourly's free with in-app purchases. Shift Work also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). WorkHourly's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WorkHourly sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Shift Work sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for WorkHourly against 5.0 for Shift Work. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WorkHourly has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WorkHourly ships an update every 9 days, Shift Work every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
