# Hegemon vs WarMaps

The clearest difference is rating: WarMaps at 5.0 against Hegemon's 4.1. WarMaps also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Hegemon's advantage is ratings volume (65 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hegemon sells 23 one-off in-app purchases and WarMaps sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WarMaps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hegemon has 65 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Hegemon's written reviews are positive against 100% of WarMaps's.

Hegemon ships an update every 2 months, WarMaps every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
