# Ping Chat vs 1Howz

The clearest difference is rating: 1Howz at 5.0 against Ping Chat's 4.7. 1Howz also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Ping Chat's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

1Howz holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ping Chat has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
