# Heartforge vs Throned

The clearest difference is rating: Throned at 4.5 against Heartforge's 3.8. Throned also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Heartforge's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Heartforge sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Throned sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Throned holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Heartforge's written reviews are positive against 67% of Throned's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Heartforge ships an update every 2 weeks, Throned every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
