# Reading Journey vs Softcover

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Reading Journey at 73% against Softcover's 33%. Reading Journey also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (389 vs 3). Softcover's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (18.5 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reading Journey sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Softcover sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
