# Pomodoro Timer vs Focustown

The clearest difference is ads: Pomodoro Timer at none against Focustown's shown. Pomodoro Timer also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Focustown's advantage is update cadence (daily vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (9.1K vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomodoro Timer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Focustown sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pomodoro Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focustown has 9.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pomodoro Timer ships an update fortnightly, Focustown daily. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
