# FreeFly Maps vs DirectionKit

The clearest difference is ads: DirectionKit at none against FreeFly Maps's shown. DirectionKit also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). FreeFly Maps's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FreeFly Maps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and DirectionKit sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FreeFly Maps ships an update every 4 days, DirectionKit every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
