# Battlefinity vs MapGenie

The clearest difference is ads: Battlefinity at none against MapGenie's shown. Battlefinity also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 204). MapGenie's advantage is review sentiment (58% vs 40%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Battlefinity sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Battlefinity against 4.9 for MapGenie. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Battlefinity has 1.1K ratings behind it against 204, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 40% of Battlefinity's written reviews are positive against 58% of MapGenie's.

Battlefinity ships an update every 3 days, MapGenie every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
