# Use Via vs ShootCal

The clearest difference is monetization model: ShootCal at free against Use Via's free with in-app purchases. ShootCal also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 days) and device support (4 vs 2). Use Via's advantage is ratings volume (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Use Via sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $15.99 per month and ShootCal sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Use Via against 5.0 for ShootCal. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Use Via ships an update every 6 days, ShootCal every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
