# Ultimate Book Writer vs Book Maker

The clearest difference is update cadence: Book Maker at every 4 days against Ultimate Book Writer's every 2 months. Book Maker also leads on ratings volume (9 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.5). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ultimate Book Writer sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Book Maker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Ultimate Book Writer against 5.0 for Book Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Book Maker has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ultimate Book Writer ships an update every 2 months, Book Maker every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
