# JPlayer vs AFKast

The clearest difference is update cadence: AFKast at every 2 days against JPlayer's every 5 days. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JPlayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AFKast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JPlayer ships an update every 5 days, AFKast every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
