# Hacker Sim vs Founder Sim

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Founder Sim at 89% against Hacker Sim's 50%. Founder Sim also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 weeks) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Hacker Sim's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hacker Sim sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Founder Sim sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hacker Sim holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 36 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Hacker Sim's written reviews are positive against 89% of Founder Sim's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hacker Sim ships an update every 5 weeks, Founder Sim every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
