# Spike AI vs Catalyst

The clearest difference is rating: Catalyst at 5.0 against Spike AI's 3.1. Spike AI's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Catalyst holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spike AI has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spike AI ships an update every 8 days, Catalyst every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
