# NihonDojo.ai vs Phenyx

The clearest difference is rating: Phenyx at 5.0 against NihonDojo.ai's 4.1. Phenyx also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 6 days) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). NihonDojo.ai's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NihonDojo.ai sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and Phenyx sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Phenyx holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NihonDojo.ai has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NihonDojo.ai ships an update every 6 days, Phenyx daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
