# Mandelbrot Metal vs Mimicly

The clearest difference is rating: Mandelbrot Metal at 4.8 against Mimicly's 3.7. Mandelbrot Metal also leads on ratings volume (30 vs 3). Mimicly's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs paid) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mandelbrot Metal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Mimicly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mandelbrot Metal holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mandelbrot Metal has 30 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Mandelbrot Metal ships an update every 6 days, Mimicly every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
