# EV13 vs SideReader

The clearest difference is ads: EV13 at none against SideReader's shown. EV13 also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). SideReader's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SideReader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EV13 has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EV13 ships an update every 5 days, SideReader fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
