# Comms vs CheckPrep

The clearest difference is rating: CheckPrep at 5.0 against Comms's 4.2. CheckPrep also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 days). Comms's advantage is ratings volume (207 vs 4) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Comms sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and CheckPrep sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CheckPrep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Comms has 207 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Comms ships an update every 4 days, CheckPrep every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
