# Whisperloop vs Toshi

The clearest difference is rating: Whisperloop at 4.1 against Toshi's 1.0. Whisperloop also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 2). Toshi's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (75% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whisperloop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Toshi sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whisperloop holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Whisperloop has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Whisperloop's written reviews are positive against 75% of Toshi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
