# No Shelf Control vs Understory

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: No Shelf Control at none against Understory's 6. Understory's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (60 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Understory sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. No Shelf Control asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for No Shelf Control against 4.9 for Understory. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Understory has 60 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
